The Institute of Home Science, University of Kashmir, hosted an inspiring lecture by Ms. Aneesa Shafi, an alumna with a specialization in Dietetics, Clinical Nutrition, and Public Health. Currently working as a Research Assistant at the Population Health Research Facility, University of Glasgow, and a Registered Nutritionist in Scotland, Ms. Shafi shared her journey from the University of Kashmir to the University of Glasgow. She emphasized that constant learning and curiosity are key drivers of success, stressing the importance of acquiring practical skills over mere degrees.
Prof. F. A. Masoodi, former Director of the Institute and Dean Academic Affairs, further highlighted her contributions and stressed the need for professional passion, perseverance, and originality. He encouraged students to develop essential soft skills such as honesty, patience, resilience, and critical thinking, noting that flexibility and adaptability are vital in today's rapidly advancing world.
