The 1st Semester students (FSCN & DCLN) conducted a field-based study on 12th March 2026 at Govt. Girls High School & Govt. Boys High School, Hazratbal, focusing on the assessment of nutritional status among different population groups, including children and adults.
The study involved the practical application of standard anthropometric techniques to evaluate growth patterns and overall health status. Key measurements recorded included height, weight, mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC), head circumference, chest circumference, waist-hip ratio, and Body Mass Index (BMI).
This field work aimed to enhance students’ practical skills in nutritional assessment, data collection, and interpretation while providing insights into the nutritional health profile of the community. The activity also helped in understanding the importance of early detection of malnutrition and promoting evidence-based nutritional interventions.
